[ch. 3] post-execution, w/ waver
[Hey, Waver.
He's going to find Veronica standing on the tips of her toes to reach the kitchen cabinets, her face dripping like she may or may not have just poured a cup of water over her head. It seems that she's looking for the booze...? If there's any left after this mess, anyway, even with the kitchen getting repaired and all.]

Did you take a bath in the well?
no subject
Wouldn't I be dead if I did that?
no subject
[ not that he looks any better either. ]
What are you looking for, the alcohol?
no subject
[just. HM.]
And if I am? Are you going to tell me I shouldn't?
no subject
but usually they don't have to deal with six people dying in the span of three days. ]
I'd tell you that you're looking in the wrong place.
[ and he'll just kindly go to the cabinet where he usually finds the alcohol and bam. bottle of vodka. ]
Get two glasses.
no subject
... Huh. You're now my favorite person.
[bless him. she's doing just that and fetching two glasses from the cabinets, hello.]
no subject
[ as callous as it may be, it's true. that said, he will serve the vodka on the two glasses and-- he'll drink his in one shot.
and serve some more for himself. this time, though, he won't drink it. ]
no subject
... He can probably tell pretty easily that she doesn't have a lot of experience with vodka, judging by the effort it takes her to not let it go right out her nose.]
I want today to be over already.
no subject
[ waver himself isn't used to alcohol either. the smell alone makes him feel queasy, but the numbness that comes with it is good enough to make him forget how disgusting it smells and tastes.
however, the mention of today's disaster makes him lower his gaze back on the glass. ]
I want this whole thing to be over already.
no subject
[Said a little defensively, while reaching over to pour herself another shot.]
Be careful what you wish for. This is going to be over sooner than we want it to be if someone else decides to be an overachiever.
no subject
[ he drinks from his glass slowly, trying to ignore the burn of the liquor. it numbs his feelings, but also clears his mind, if only for a moment. ]
Remember what Lady Dragon said? There's a way to bring those who have died back. I think that the chances of this 'ending' occurring will be related to whether or not enough people complete their objectives.
no subject
But if more of us die before "enough" people complete their objectives, will we really have that option? We don't know what counts at enough.
no subject
[ a shrug ]
However, I guess that asking the Crafters directly may answer the question of “how much is enough”. At the very worst, we won’t get an answer.
